DFC Sector Representatives

With 40 years of experience as a teacher, principal and central office administrator, I have seen the impact that a challenging home life has on the lives of children. My greatest teachers have always been the children, families, and staff that I was blessed to encounter during my career.

I am the administrator for the Clay County Health Department and was one of the founding members of Clay Counts back in 2007. I am in charge of any of the fiscal responsibilities of the grant.

I love promoting all of the great things Clay Counts is doing, not only to prevent the use of drugs and alcohol in our community, but also to get people on board with our mission and purpose. We help a lot of people!

I think Clay Counts is important because it has people from all different parts of the county, both rural and urban, that can identify a lot of problems and solutions that are needed in the community. 

I believe Clay Counts Coalition is an important part of our community because they invest in the well-being and future of our youth and families. They provide support, education, and opportunities that make our community stronger and healthier for everyone.

Clay Counts fills a community gap by addressing mental health and substance abuse from multiple angles. By providing resources/education to all ages and backgrounds, we can give everyone the ability to notice when something is wrong and where to go for help. 

As a law enforcement officer in Clay Center for the past 31 years, I've seen first-hand the positive impact Clay Counts has had on our community.  The reduction in underage drinking and substance abuse alone has been impressive.

I am the coordinator of Common Ground ministries, which works with the Clay Counts Coalition helping in different events.
